  • morpheme - smallest unit of meaning, typically a word but can also include other units such as prefixes or suffixes
  • insertion - the strategy in which the first language is spoken primarily, but there are traces of the second language present
  • replacement - replacing a morpheme with another morpheme from another language
  • accusative case/accusative marking - marking that denotes that this noun is the object that the verb acts upon
  • neutralizing term - general terms that are used in a language regardless of region
  • lexical borrowing - borrowing a term from another language to use in another language
